Welcome to Direst of Divisions, the official fanlisting for the Wars of the Roses (1452-1485). The title is from Shakespeare's Richard III (unusual choice, yes?), and this is the line, from Act 5, scene 5:

RICHMOND: All this divided York and Lancaster,
Divided in their dire division

For those who know me, and therefore know my pro-York stance, this is an unusual play, and, indeed, an unusual quote, for me to pick. But it works beautifully. I simply tweaked the words. The image used in the layout is from here, and depicts the final battle of the Wars-Bosworth.

update (mm/dd/yy): 4/20/06!: Sorry about disappearing on you guys for a while. I've reapplied for this FL and everything should be okay. There's nothing to update, really, but I'm working on that little problem with the link that appears too have wrapped itself (in IE, at least.) And I reuploaded the members page.
